Sunday morning was lovely and fresh,
although the targets looked like they
might stay in the mist for a while. No
one was in a hurry as the BBQ was fired
up and coffee made. How’s the serenity?
Sunday morning
The plan this morning was to use the
square target, deemed easier than the diamond. Maybe. After our usual breakfast we were on the line at 9am and enjoying the near perfect, overcast conditions.
Again, 3 convertible sighters and 10 for
score, 3 for inner white, 2 for the black
and 1 for the outer white. Everyone was
soon on target and “clanging” the “steel”.
Jim B was getting in the groove, Ken H
was winding in the groove, Ken H turned
his 10 o’clock group into a 9 o’clock
group and Dan was reacquainting himself with his set trigger and enjoying not
having to get up & down. Not sure what
other shooters were doing today but we
were having a good time.
meringue, whipped cream and fruit we
discussed the months ahead and our
proposed 2026 calendar.
We had our presentation, took the obligatory crew photo, made sure the club
house was clean and squared away, said
our farewells and headed home from a
most relaxing weekend of shooting.

We did finish rather early and could have
fitted in another distance or two but decided to call it a day. We had wet camps
to pack up and more importantly we had
pavlova to eat.
With the range closed and everything
away we served up the delicious morning
tea of homemade pavlova and fruit salad.
As we had to finish it all, some members
may or may not have had 3 helpings.
While we savoured our spoonfuls of
God bless Black Powder!
