changed loads for his last 3 shots just to
mix it up and use some discard bullets,
it’s been too hot for casting out our way.
By now it was late morning but the vote
at breakfast had been to go straight from
the 600y target at 600y to the 300y target at 600y, no sighters, 10 for score.
Challenge accepted!! 22” aiming mark at
600y. Who came up with this idea?

“Aim small, miss small”
The pit crew changed the target, and we
assumed the position. We scored the
whole target as it was at 600 and it
looked so small even through the spotting scope. It was hot, the mirage was no
one’s friend but realising the scores of 1
just outside the aiming mark would be a
4 on the 600y target, it was worth having
a “thwack”. Gavin was having trouble
deciding which of his 3 loads to use. We
had joked about a bucket shoot. There
was only a couple of misses, so it shows
how much everyone has improved and
that was a tough target in tough conditions so well done all.
The day was then declared and the range
packed up in record time and the shade
sought as welcome relief.
It has become our practice to sit and relax a while after the pack down. It is a
positive move, having something to eat
and drink, winding down and having a
chat sets everyone up for the drive home.

We held our presentation and took our
group photo. Shayne had donated a
prize of a multitool for a non-winning
shooter who had shot all shots and all
distances and that was awarded to Ken
H. While we had a good discussion
about prizes last night, this weekend
Dan took out the Jamesons from Shayne
with a bottle of Baileys. I think that covered St Patrick’s Day.
Great shooting everyone.
