Editor’s Note Regarding Our Australian
Friends and the Tragedy Befalling Them
We are very pleased to welcome
Dan Macdonald and all the
members of the Bu昀昀alo Ri昀氀e
Association of Australia to our
newsletter. I personally consider it very important that we
include as much of an international perspective as possible in
what we are doing. Black Powder Target Ri昀氀e shooting has
a very long history of international competition and fostering
camaraderie among nations.
“Fact Sheets.” Reading through
these gives an eye opening
view of what shooters in another nation must go through
in order to merely enjoy their
sport. There is a mountain of
legal mumbo-jumbo and hoops
to jump through, in addition
to vast members of the public
being completely ignorant about
昀椀rearm characteristics and uses.
Our Australian friends are being
outvoted at every turn.
I was stunned when I opened
the 昀椀rst BRAA newsletter (December, 2025) and found that
the email contained the following “Member Guide” and

making an exception in this case.
These pages represent exactly

what will happen to us if maniacs like Washington Governor
Bob Furguson get their way.
This also clearly illustrates just
why the systematic looting of the
NRA is so completely unforgivable. The largest organization
that was supposed to be safeguarding our rights was (in reality) nothing but a money grab
for a bunch of greedy embezzlers. Despite court orders and
settlements, most of the money
has not been repaid and it seems
clear that it never will be. We,
the shooting community, need
to do better by ourselves.
