Today was the .22 rim昀椀re
match. The weather started o昀昀
nice and calm and there were
a few people who shot 150 out
of 150. I managed a 148 out
of 150. The second relay saw
the conditions continue, and
several more very nice scores
were 昀椀red. I shot a 142/150 and
it seemed like the match was
starting to slip away.
When we switched up to the
third relay, the conditions
God bless Black Powder!
started to change and we experienced several reversals of the
wind direction. We had to make
rapid adjustments and I ended
up with a 135 out of 150. My
total score for the day was 425
out of 450. I was stunned to 昀椀nd
out that this was good enough
for 昀椀rst place.
Back at the Airbnb, Jimbo and I
had a couple of good phone calls
with friends and then set about
grilling ribeyes for dinner. We
cleaned our ri昀氀es and started
getting ready for the big bore
match tomorrow. I was in the
fart sack by 19:00.
As with all these types of shooting matches, the real credit
goes to the spotter. The spotter
drives the bus, plain and simple.
The trigger man just does as
he’s told. Jimbo Terry is a world
class spotter and a great friend.
Thanks Jimbo!
