Today we shot at 800 yards. The
conditions were generally calm, but
there were several reversals. I’m
still using up old ammunition. I did
not place as high as I would like. I
did shoot better than I had at 600
though so things are improving.
Tomorrow’s the 900 yard line and
I expect to start doing a good bit
better.

My 昀椀rst scoresheet from 800 yards. Note shots 6, 7, and 8... we
had a “boil” condition going on. Several shooters have speculated that random updrafts and downdrafts exist at Ben Avery. We
昀椀red all three of these shots with the same sight setting. As a side
note, my drone alerted me that it was encountering updrafts and
downdrafts while I was collecting video footage. Might be better
to wait until the boil goes either left or right if time permits.
Pulling targets equals 90 minutes in the
shade with plenty of ice water!
