It’s maddening to have something
valuable stolen from you. Being
unable to retrieve it is even more
maddening. When you finally settle
with the insurance company for far
less money than what the thing actually cost, that’s just adding insult
to injury. The best and most effective solution is to be able to retrieve
your stolen property very quickly.
A GPS tracking device is your single best option to achieve that.
I would like to say that Neil was
very interested in this idea almost
from the minute I pitched it to him.
I had been worried that he might
think it unworkable or a bit of a
crack pot idea. However, within
an hour of talking to him, I got a
string of text messages with ideas
about how it could be done and I
was boxing up the stock for shipping. This project would not have
been possible without his help.
I greatly look forward to posting
updates on this. See you boys on

of those matches, the load testing,
and regular practice that it will go
through between now and then,
that will be an excellent test of durability. This should easily provide
proof of concept. The last thing
to consider here is maintenance.
AirTag batteries generally last about
8
a year and a half. I have a reminder in my phone to replace smoke
detector batteries every year at
daylight savings time. I have simply
added a second reminder to replace
all my AirTag batteries as well.
