HOW THIS WILL WORK: There will be two separate matches running at the same time a Muzzleloading Match and a Breech Loading Match. With ample
participants in each match, we will simply alternate relays a muzzleloader relay and a breech loading relay.
GENERAL GUIDING RULES: 2014 NRA rulebook for black powder target rifle will apply with the bench rest exception (defined below). Equipment or procedures not
covered by the rule book are prohibited. Muzzle Loaders Associations International Confederation rules.
Coaching: None therefore squadding will be set by match director
Match Classes:
Muzzleloader – Governed by MLAIC international rules.
Breechloader Unlimited – 2014 NRA rulebook for black powder target rifle with the exception that a bench position and cross sticks are allowed.
All classes – NO grounded rifles the rear butt will be held (fully supported) by the shooter.
THIS IS A BLACK POWDER MATCH , BLACK POWDER SUBSTITUTES AND DUPLEX LOADS ARE NOT ALLOWED !
For pit safety all matches between 800-1000 yards minimum bullet weight and velocity are as follows:
NOTE: 38 and 40 calibers require preapproval by the match director. Submit your load
(Caliber, bullet weight, powder F, and weight) along with your muzzle velocity
chronograph data (three shot minimum. 45 calibers have minimums also you generally
need 70gr of Swiss 1.5 to reach minimums with a 500-grain bullet. Your loads may be
checked failure to meet minimums will remove you from shooting!
Bullets may be up to 5% under weight as long as power factors ((Bullet grain weight * Velocity in FPS)/1000) are met.
MATCH SCHEDULE:
PIT DUTY: All competitors are required to perform pit duty.
DAILY MATCH SCHEDULE:

7:00-7:30 Saturday only check in/registration at the statistics office.
•
7:30 role call and safety meeting at Saturday 600-yard line, Sunday 1000-yard line
•
8:00 first shot down range.
SQUADDING, COURSE OF FIRE, SIGHTERS, LINE ETIQUETTE: It is our intent to have a two people pair firing on one target. The muzzleloaders will be on one
relay and the breech loaders on another. If there is a lack of participants we will mix muzzleloaders and breech loaders and adjust relay times to accommodate this.
The spirit of the match is to read wind, adjust sights, and fire within 90 seconds after elbows are on the mat. There will be 3/5 sighter shots, which are convertible for
score in reverse order. Your first sighter is your first shot that touches paper inside the scoring rings. Rifleman award goes to high breech loader competitor that
shoots the match without a coach or wind caller.
SHOOTING POINTS: All shooting points can be driven.
RIFLES AND EQUIPMENT: See Match classes for locations of rules. NO EXCEPTIONS! OPEN BOLT INDICATORS ARE MANDATORY!
ACCOMODATIONS: There is a full hook-up campground located at the range. Nonelectric camping is free. Camping with electric is $10 a night.
