BPCR Bullet Design Considerations
by Matt Steckel
Many ask; “What is the
best bullet design?” Some
may say it’s a large 昀氀at
nose bullet, others, a long
slender pointed nose.
There are bene昀椀ts to
both, but also issues. Do
I choose paper patch or
grease groove??
From shooting across this
country, in some if the
best places on earth, I’ve
spent many, many hours
looking at bullets and their
24
designs. There are so many
choices to pick from, how
does one pick “the golden bullet?” Well, that’s
the million-dollar question!!! What works in one
ri昀氀e, may not in another,
but then will in the next.
WHY?

brand, design, material,
etc. And when it’s design
is close enough to another
barrel, we get good results
in both.
So, the question still

昀氀ying well. Picking a bullet
that will 昀氀y to 500 meters
is much di昀昀erent than
