say. The idea is to help the
old shooters teach the new
shooters so let’s keep them
shooting. If all the old
shooters are forced out,
the sport will die.
The next part of this is actually building the bench...
I spoke about my 昀椀rst
bench it worked well but
just too heavy. I built a
second bench that’s the
same width as a prone

shooting mat but shorter.
I built it so I could shoot a
30 inch to a 34 inch barrel.
I mounted bench cross
sticks with wing nuts
and bolts installed a caring handle it weighed 38
pounds so it is easy to carry for one person. It folds
up so you can either lay it
昀氀at or on its side. I will tell
you there is in art shooting from a bench. Your
body will be a little more
upright, so you will still be
sucking up all that good
recoil, but you will need
a seat that is adjustable
for up and down. This will
help you get in a good postition to have a solid cheek
weld and sight picture. Remember that you are not
allowed to ground the ri昀氀e
on the bench or use any
type of rear rest. Here are
some photos of my bench.
