cluding the barrel MUST be
original. A lined barrel is not
original; they can be slightly bored if need be to “clean”
them up.
We also shoot without any
form of rest at 300, 500 and
600 yards. You only get a
sling! And I’ll tell you, it’s a
lot harder than you’d think to
shoot this way! (Lots of practice with a .22lr will help this!)
After 601 yards, we can use a
wrist rest. The sling cannot
be single point either. It must
be a min of 8 inches between
connecting points. Most if not
all, are handmade along with
the cheek rests.
All of your other equipment,
loading stand, wrist rest,
cleaning rod, scope, mat, jacket, etc. can all be newly made
without worries.

Bullet designs for muzzleloaders are just as crazy as they are
for cartridge guns. The real
main difference is that some
prefer to have a bullet .0005.001 over bore. These bullets
are started with a short starter and engrave the rifling.
Most are bore diameter or just
slightly under. There are quite
a few paper patch bullets from
what I have seen in my limited experience. Whatever way
you decide to go, I don’t think
there is any advantages over
the other.
