The C.C. Johnson Prize is awarded to the competitor
who shoots the smallest 5 shot group at 100 yards.
Participants have the opportunity to shoot 2 groups
with unlimitted sighters. This benchrest event takes
place on Saturday 1/23/27.
C.C. Johnson was a master gunsmith in Thackery,
Ohio active from roughly the mid-1930s to the early
1960s. He was known for his work on single-shot
varmint rifles.
His forte was
barrel and
action work. He
had quite a
reputation for
relining .22 LR
target rifle
barrels in the
heyday of
smallbore 3
position
shooting.
