Considered one of America's top rifle marksmen in the
1860s and 1870s.

Berlin Shooting Championships in 1868, becoming the first
American to win an international rifle title.

Received a prize rifle from the Kaiser of Prussia and a
decoration from the Emperor of Austria-Hungary.

Awarded a diamond badge by the Riflemen of California in

Dubbed the "Champion Rifle
Shot in the West" after his
