Paul was always happy to talk about shooting and could rattle o昀昀
starting loads and obscure bit of firearms history. Spending time at
the range was about competing, but also about trying out new ideas,
testing loads and being with like-minded people. He developed the
.32-20 CPA to fill a need for a readily available and easy to load
Schuetzen cartridge. Paul continued to be active in the company
and to compete in Schuetzen matches until he retired at age 90, and
won the centerfire score match at his last match in eastern New
York. The CPA Rifles tradition now continues with Neil Eddington
and Ross Peters of Legacy Gun Works in Ohio, and with the
thousands of rifles he built during his lifetime.”
