Wellington-Warming Up
It was great to arrive Saturday morning
and see mown areas and all the shooters
on the 300 yard mound setting up waiting for the sun to be high enough to
start. Thanks team.
he was on the money, topping with a 37
with Keith hot on his heels on 36.

Glorious spring sunshine on Saturday
We fired our first shot at 08:45 and we
were underway with 12 shooters for the
weekend. Shayne kicked us off with a V
on his second and third sighter, so he
settled in for a good score. Mark B was
back for another go, Richard was trying
prone, Mark G also went prone and tried
a new sight, Kellie had another new projectile and Sharon was on her new CPA.
There was a tight cluster of scores over
the two details, 38 being popular. Several times the marker was hit, and Brad
hit Ken’s shot marker with it travelling
down the outside of the marker tube. We
cranked along at a good pace and were
finished by 11:15 in the warm spring
sunshine.
Now to the 600 yard. It was warm and
sunny, and the mirage was out and
about. There was a mix of cut and kept
sighters and a few Vs. Mark G was trying BPCR prone in jacket and sling and

We lunched as we swapped over and
moved to the 900 yard mound. We
wanted to see if we could get through the
full three distances. Now it was 5 convertible sighters and 15 for score on the
newly widened mound. Thanks again
Lindsay.
There was a fair bit of banter going on as
is the Australian way. Ken H was having
trouble seeing the target so went the Full
Monty (no glasses), this led to the discussion of Jim being the Bionic man since
his cataract surgery with someone suggesting he was the $6 dollar man.
Now as much as we might have hustled,
5 sighters/15 scoring shots was taking a
while. Shayne had kept 3 x 4s and a 3
but everyone else cut sighters. It was
Sharon’s first attempt at 900 so she kept
a 5/0. The afternoon was wearing on
and it was quite warm in the sun, but it
was nearing 5pm when Detail 1 finished.
It was decided there was enough light to
start but not to finish so Detail 2 would
shoot in the morning as soon as the light
was right. High score so far was Shayne
on 42.
